'It doesn't pretend to tell you what will win, but it aims to point out what type of horse is likely to win, which according to those in Telegraph Towers who like a punt may be jolly useful information.' - Andrew Baker, The Telegraph [read the full review] 'Readers who enjoy big-race trends and are looking to get ahead could do far worse than pick up a copy of Racing Trends Revealed National Hunt 08/09' - Racing Post [read the full review]
Readers who enjoy big-race trends in this paper and are looking to get ahead could do far worse than pick up a copy of Racing Trends Revealed National Hunt 08/09.
With similar scope to the Flat version, David Myers' book lists the past 12 winners of over 110 Graded races and big-race handicaps in Britain, plus over 30 events in Ireland, in tabular form.
Each table give sthe usual key trends, form, age, weight handicap marks, etc., plus a winner's prfile.
Where Myers' book differs from others is that it also lists future form, thereby offering a good idea of how the winner of this season's race may progress.
This is not the cheapest product on the market, but it is well researched and, most importantly, accurate.

'another weapon to add to the arsenal for the coming season. ' - The Irish Field [read the full review]
With Cheltenham over, the attention of many punters is turning to the flat, and Racing Trends Revealed: Flat 2008 by David Myers is another weapon to add to the arsenal for the coming season. Following trends may not have proved too profitable at Cheltenham this year - Champion Hurdle winner Katchit was opposed on the grounds that a five-year-old had rarely won the race, while World Hurdle hero Inglis Drever was another battling the statistics. However, in the long term, it can be a valuable guide, when approached with an open mind. Racing Trends Revealed covers over 200 major races in Britain and Ireland, looking at the last 12 runnings of each one, before giving a 'Winner's Profile', which takes some of the clues and gives a concise portrait of the likely winner based on the strongest trends. 'Future Pointers' deals with how the main players in previous runnings have fared in their next outings, and whether they were profitable to follow. The 'Future Success Rating' is a simple five-star system which shows the strength of the race, on the basis of the achievements of not just the winner, but the placed horses also. Unsurprisingly, the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial, gets top marks and is nominated as 'one of the best future pointers in this book'.
